Police Patrolman Nickolaus Schultz
The Town of Merrillville solemnly honors the life and legacy of Officer Nickolaus Schultz, who made the ultimate sacrifice while serving and protecting our community.
In September 2014, Officer Schultz was tragically killed in an ambush while courageously responding to a reported break-in.
Today, and every day, we remember Officer Schultz for his bravery, commitment and sacrifice in protecting The Heart of the Region. His legacy will forever remain a part of our community, and we remain deeply grateful for his service.
