Residents are invited to attend an informational meeting regarding the potential sale of the Dean and Barbara White Community Center at 6 p.m. May 28 at the Community Center, 6600 Broadway. Presentations will outline the proposal and explain how the facility could potentially be operated by the YMCA. This meeting is intended for informational purposes only. No vote will take place during the session regarding the potential sale.

The Northwest Indiana Forum in conjunction with the Town of Merrillville will host a Data Center informational meeting at 5:30 p.m. June 11, 2026 at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway. This will include presentations by Kimley-Horn, Merrillville Data Center Committee Member Steve Muenstermann, Sr. and NIPSCO. The event also will include breakout sessions. More details will be provided as planning continues.
