Spring Cleanup Program Continues in Merrillville

It’s the second week of the Town of Merrillville’s Spring Cleanup program, which means the Street Department’s leaf collection has moved to residences south of 73rd Avenue. Leaf collectors will pick up residential leaves & yard waste (NO BRANCHES). Because our leaf collectors are vacuum units, only loose leaves will be collected from the curbside or the edge of the street.

Dumpster's are also available for use by Merrillville residents during Spring Cleanup. The Dumpster program runs through Saturday, April 27th, and hours for dumping will be from 7:15 a.m. to 2:45 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, April 27th. Dumpster's are located at the Public Works facility at 13 West 73rd Avenue. All residents must present a driver’s license to the Street Department employee at the Dumpster site before disposing unwanted items during the weekday & Saturday hours.
