STORM RECOVERY UPDATE (Aug. 12 6:20 a.m.)

Crews are back out this morning removing debris from roadways. Please be patient as recovery work continues. In some cases, debris is entangled with fallen electric lines, and crews must first confirm the lines aren’t active before they can remove them.

A few reminders as the recovery work continues.

TOWN OPERATIONS

Town Hall remains closed to the public Wednesday, Aug 12. Emergency operations continues and other staff members are working remotely.

GENERATOR SAFETY

If you are using a generator, follow these rules:

· Keep it at least 20 feet away from your home, with exhaust pointed away from windows and vents.

· Never run it in a garage, basement, or shed — even with the door open.

Residents who sustained property damage during the Aug. 11 severe storm should call 211 to report their damage. This information is essential for the storm recovery process. If you are seeking services, 211 representatives can direct you to organizations that can assist.

TRAFFIC SAFETY

With power out, there are many traffic signals that aren’t operating. When a traffic light isn’t functioning, the intersection becomes a four-way stop.
