Storm Recovery Update (11:30 a.m. Aug. 14)

TREE DEBRIS REMOVAL

Crews from Dyer Construction and Joe’s Tree Service remain in the community completing their first pass of tree debris removal. Resident are asked to place their branches and limbs at the curb. Here’s what has been accomplished as of noon Friday, Aug. 14. Crews are also expected on Saturday.

 

Crew 1:

Georgia Heights – first pass completed

Working around 53rd Avenue and moving east

 

Crew 2:

Brookwood South -- on second pass

Bell Oaks – first pass completed

Brookwood North will be targeted next

Actively working Devonshire

Actively working Turkey Creek

 

Crew 5

Cleared and opened Hendricks Street and 57th Avenue between Harrison Street and Broadway.

Bon-Aire will be targeted next

 

 

 

ROAD UPDATES

Nicholson Road/Hendricks Street has reopened between 57th Avenue and 73rd Avenue.

57th Avenue and Madison Street has also reopened. Midwestern Electric is working at 57th Avenue and Harrison Street to restore the traffic signal there.

 

CHARGING LOCATION

The Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway) is available to charge phones while residents are without power. Please let the staff know you are there to charge your devices, and they will direct you to the charging location.

 

FOOD TRUCKS AVAILABLE

Food trucks will be in rotation from noon to 7 p.m. today (Aug. 14) through Sunday (Aug. 16) at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway.

Discounted menus will be available! Drive up and grab a bite to eat.
