Merrillville Hosts Trunk or Treat Oct. 21

Be part of one of Merrillville's favorite fall traditions by participating in the town's Annual Trunk or Treat!

We're looking for local businesses, nonprofits, churches, civic organizations and community groups to host a decorated trunk and help create a fun, safe and memorable Halloween experience for local families.

This free event takes place from 5:30 to 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 21 at the Dean and Barbara White Community Center, 6600 Broadway.

The community will vote on their favorite trunk during the event.

Those interested in participating are asked to fill out a registration form.

For the community, Trunk or Treat is an opportunity to put on your favorite costume and enjoy a safe and spooktacular evening as children collect candy from trunks decorated by town departments, area businesses and local organizations.

The event also features a Halloween costume contest.
