We the members of the Merrillville Police Department are committed to being responsive to the community in the delivery of quality law enforcement services.

We recognize our responsibility to maintain order, while affording dignity and respect to every individual.

Our mission is to improve the quality of life for the citizens of Merrillville by working cooperatively with the public and within the framework of the U.S. Constitution to enforce the laws, preserve the peace, reduce fear, and provide for a safe environment.
