The Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners of Merrillville would like to extend its gratitude to the Merrillville community and their representatives on the Town Council for their ongoing support of our police department.  The group effort
has been dominate as the catalyst for the changes and on going improvements in the department.

The Merrillville Police Department, through the direction of Chief Nicholas Bravos,
has become a pro-active department with much higher visibility than in past years.   New police car designs have made residents and visitors take notice that
new “black & white” patrol cars are around to serve and protect.

The Police Commissions is proud of the entire department and are honored to serve on the Metropolitan Board of Police Commissioners.  We thank the Council
for their wisdom in keeping some consistency on this very important board. There is much work to do, but we look forward to another productive year
